The three programmes

Three consortia. Three problems worth solving.

Each programme paired willbö with a sector anchor (Navantia · PYMAR · SOERMAR) and asked a concrete question: how do you industrialise a technology the Spanish naval sector does not yet have. The dissemination posters below are the public face of three years of co-design, integration and field trials.

DTNAVAL — shipyard and industry technologies.

Desarrollo de tecnologías para el astillero y la industria naval. Reverse-engineer ship blocks from laser scans, close gaps between built-as and design-as, and prove a point-cloud-to-CAD workflow a single technician can run.

Closing-tube routing in a ship block. Reference measurement compared to an on-site point cloud. Deviation: 0 mm on the 1116 mm axis, 2 mm on the 1096 mm axis. One technician, one afternoon, handed off to CAD.

NAVANTWING — digital twin of the naval product.

Gemelo Digital del Producto naval. Put the ship on the builder's head. Mixed-reality authoring of hierarchical ship models, segregated data streams per discipline, and multi-site XR collaboration between yards.

Our deliverable · PT4 package

Three axes: hierarchical ship mock-up in HoloLens 2, discipline-based data segregation, and cross-yard XR collaboration. The work package that became the engineering core of holö Site.

CAPCO2 — onboard carbon capture plant.

Planta de captura de CO₂ para descarbonizar el transporte marítimo. A modular, retrofit-ready onboard carbon capture system, engineered with SOERMAR — the R&D arm that unlocked the product line now classed by Bureau Veritas.

Programme outcome

The engineering developed inside PP06 is the foundation of the commercial CAPCO2 product — which reached Approval in Principle with Bureau Veritas in April 2026.

Why we stepped up

Wanting to do things.

In 2022 most Galician SMEs watched the PERTE from the sidelines. We wrote memoranda, joined consortia, and signed up for deliverables with public scrutiny attached. A small engineering office from Vigo, in the same table as the yards that build warships.

02 · Idear

Having ideas.

Point-cloud reverse engineering of ship blocks. Mixed-reality authoring of hierarchical naval models. Onboard carbon capture engineered for retrofit. Not wishlists — deliverables written into public memoranda, with deadlines, milestones, and a panel of reviewers.

03 · Atreverse

Daring to ship it.

The cheap option was to write papers. We built — and kept building after the grant closed. Two products now stand outside the PERTE: holö runs on live shipyard sites, and CAPCO2 holds a Bureau Veritas Approval in Principle.

After the PERTE

We are still building.
